Matriarch FAQ Empty
PostSubject: Matriarch FAQ   Matriarch FAQ EmptyTue Nov 12, 2013 9:00 pm

The following is a summarized version of the Matriarch's descriptions. This version also indicates the possible jobs held by the Runic Guardians. Please note that some of the titles are out of date. When considering a Matriarch it's generally advised that you consider all the possible meanings of the word, in all it's uses. If you do this you will understand that each Matriarch has a wide range of possibilities...as to why say Pakanga might be interested in Peace and why Its would be interested in War. There are very few contradictions, but many connections and all open to interpretation. Everyone is free to expand these or any aspect of the Theocracy that they find fun.

Guardian of Pakanga - She is the Matriarch of War. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is the greatest Warrior of the the Theocracy. This Warrior is thus the Champion of the Theocracy, second in command to the Guardian of Kai-Rang.

Guardian of Its - She is the Matriarch of Peace. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is likely versed in Diplomacy and Negotiations. This Warrior is thus the Diplomat of the Theocracy.

Guardian of Chahana - She is the Matriarch of Love. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is one that loves Kai-Rang and all the Matriarchs more than life itself. It is in the giving and receiving of gifts that Love is expressed. This Warrior is thus the Treasurer of the Theocracy.

Guardian of Sahas - She is the Matriarch of Courage. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension believes in his cause and the free and safe travel of the Pilgrimage. This Warrior is thus the Master of the Pilgrimage for the Theocracy.

Guardian of Hon - She is the Matriarch of Fate. But a Rashkir is meant to fight against his fate, so that he may forge his own destiny. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is a student of fate, and of the twisting and merging of destinies. This Warrior is thus the Master of Quests for the Theocracy.

Guardian of Kengen - She is the Matriarch of Power. While the Guardian of Pakanga is a great Warrior, it takes a soul of determination, organization, and faith to win a war. It is thus that the Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is a student and master of war and in motivating soldiers. This Warrior is thus the War Leader of the Theocracy.

Guardian of Vayu - She is the Matriarch of Air, and is the Messenger to Kai-Rang's will. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is versed in all aspects of the faith and is able to carry forth the Messages of Kai-Rang. This Warrior is thus the Applications Manager for the Theocracy.

Guardian of Waimiz - She is the Matriarch of Water and of the flowing of the spirit and emotional energy. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is adept at understanding the flow of things in the stars, in combat, and in trade. This Warrior is thus the Master of Trade for the Theocracy.

Guardian of Kangenraga - She is the Matriarch of Music and of all things having to do with rythms and movements, such as the firing of a laser cannon or the playing of a drum. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is considerate of the rythm of life and balance. This Warrior is thus the Second to Koo-Its or the Second Diplomat.

Guardian of Rir - She is the Matriarch of Wrath and vendettas. Her spirit is quick to anger and quick to strike. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is quick to meet a foe in battle and uphold all that the Theocracy stands for. This Warrior is thus the Second to Koo-Sahas or the Second Master of the Pilgrimage, tasked with protecting the path and acting against the threats to it.

Guardian of Koura - She is the Matriarch of Gold and wealth. Her spirit is well versed in the value of treasures and the appraisal of gifts to Kai-Rang. The Warrior that can claim this Rune in the Ascension is careful to consider all resources available to the Theocracy. This Warrior is thus the second to Koo-Chahana, or the Second Treasurer.

Guardian of Kaj - She is the Matriarch of Fire, of destruction but also of determination and action. Her spirit motivates the Warrior and fills his heart with desire for the things that he wants. The Warrior that can claim this rune in the Ascension is able to motivate and reach out to people in friendship and in attack. This Warrior is thus the second to Koo-Vayu, or the Second Applications Manager for the Theocracy.

Guardian of Chippujana - She is the Matriarch of Earth, of the Ground, and of Balance and Beginnings. Her spirit holds the Warrior in contemplation of his options and how to develop a good foundation for all activities. The Warrior that is able to claim this rune in the Ascension is good with planning economies and balancing them. This Warrior is thus the Second to Koo-Waimiz, or the Second Trade Master.

Guardian of Adauchi - She is the Matriarch of Vengeance, of the well prepared assault and complete annihlation of foes. Her spirit entreats the Warrior to strike with a well measured and unstoppable blow. The Warrior that is able to claim this rune has a good idea of tactics and planning and coordinating of forces. This Warrior is thus the Second to Koo-Kengen, or the Second War Leader of the Theocracy.

Guardian of Kotinga - She is the Matriarch of the Harvest, of toil, of hard struggles and bad times. Her spirit tells the Warrior that he must put in effort to find a reward. The Warrior that is able to claim this rune in the Ascension has a good plan for developing his skills and those of others, this Warrior also knows how to bring the test to our enemies. This Warrior is thus the Second to Koo-Pakanga, or the Second Champion of the Theocracy.

Guardian of Paibisundarat - She is the Matriarch of Beauty, and is able to tempt the Warrior away from his true path and to devour him, or in her beauty lead him to the correct path. Always dangerous to behold, her spirit is a test to the Warriors of all age. The Warrior that is able to claim this rune in the Ascension is creative and crafty, able to paint pictures in words and thought and to express them to his fellow Warriors. This Warrior is thus the Second to Koo-Hon or the Second Quest Master.

Just a thought: Maybe Koo-Chippujana should be renamed the Matriarch of Land, seeing as "Earth" is fairly human specific?

"Soil" would be better in that context, but the Matriarch of Earth is named not from the Planet but from one of the four elements of Alchemy: Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

Soil, Air, Fire and Water just doesn't have the same ring to it Wink

Earth - noun
1.
(often initial capital letter) the planet third in order from the sun, having an equatorial diameter of 7926 miles (12,755 km) and a polar diameter of 7900 miles (12,714 km), a mean distance from the sun of 92.9 million miles (149.6 million km), and a period of revolution of 365.26 days, and having one satellite.
2.
the inhabitants of this planet, especially the human inhabitants:
The whole earth rejoiced.
3.
this planet as the habitation of humans, often in contrast to heaven and hell:
to create a hell on earth.
4.
the surface of this planet:
to fall to earth.
5.
the solid matter of this* planet; dry land; ground.
6.
soil and dirt, as distinguished from rock and sand; the softer part of the land.

7.
the hole of a burrowing animal; lair.

*can probably be applied to all planets (with solid matter)

Also, she is Earth because of the traditional 4 elements. Water, Earth, Fire, Air. Long ago, all the four nations lived in harmony, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only an especially dumb and arrogant human would think that Chippujana is the Matriarch of his planet. Razz
